Step 4: Add your questions
Click + New Question, pick a question type (Multiple Choice, Checkbox, True/False, Fill-in-the-Blank, and more), and click Add.
ProProfs shows you an example of each type so you know what you’re picking before you commit. Once a question appears in the editor, you can edit the text and every answer option directly.

Step 5: Layer in the advanced settings

Step 6: Preview it
Click Preview to see the quiz exactly as a quiz taker will experience it, questions, flow, and all, before it goes live.
Step 7: Set your results, settings, and theme
From the left panel of the editor:
- Results: Choose and customize how outcomes are displayed to quiz takers.
- Settings: Control scoring, question order, and visibility; click All Settings for the full list of options.
- Themes: Pick or customize a theme so the quiz matches your own branding instead of looking like a generic template.
Your work saves automatically, so there’s no separate save step once you’re in the editor. Click the header logo any time to jump back to your dashboard, where your new quiz will now show up ready to share, embed, or send out for leads.
A couple of things worth keeping in mind as you build, regardless of which of the three routes you took in Step 2:
- Decide your outcomes before you write questions: Whether it’s a scored result or a set of personality types, write questions that sort people into those outcomes cleanly, rather than writing questions first and figuring out the scoring after.
- Don’t force a binary where a spectrum exists: If a question forces “yes or no” onto something that’s actually a range of feelings, the result will feel random and people will notice.
- Test with a small group before a big push: Preview mode gets you most of the way there, but sharing a real link with five or ten people surfaces confusing wording or a scoring gap faster than staring at your own draft.
