Every medicine cat has taken an exam. It's just part of the deal. Your knowledge has to be tested before you can be trusted with the Clan's health and well-being. Being medicine cat is a huge responsibility, and this exam will show that you're ready for it. If you don't get a good grade, it's fine. Maybe you and your mentor need to review some things first, or maybe all you need is another try. It's fine. As long as you pass eventually, that's what matters—and also, of course, the safety of your Clan!

Cats usually catch it during leaf-fall and leaf-bare, and sometimes it develops into large-scale epidemics. It can be fatal for elders and kits, and it has claimed the lives of several cats.
