    • Proactive and varied - I look online, in newspapers, I network at industry events and ask friends and family if they know of any opportunities, I monitor the websites of employers I want to work for and also contact them directly to check if they have any current or upcoming vacancies.

    • Predictable and limited - I sent out my resume for a few jobs online, and check the paper on Saturdays.

    • Patient and deluded– I’m waiting for the right job to land in my lap. If I wait long enough employers are bound to come knocking..

    • A couple of copies of my application (in case the interviewers need it), including hardcopies of my relevant qualifications and/certificates, a pen and paper and my list of questions to ask them about the business and the role.

    • Dressing professionally and appropriately for the job. Being well groomed with clean hair that’s out of my face. Presenting positive body language – standing up straight, offering a firm handshake and smiling.

    • Being proactive with my job search by getting out there and being open about my career goals. Getting as much work experience (paid or unpaid) as I can to build my skills and expand my networks. Tailoring my application to the individual job and seeking feedback from employers to improve future applications.

    • Registering my resume with a couple of online jobs sites and hoping for the best..

    • What? I dunno.. I’ll think about it tomorrow, I’m far too busy posting videos of my cat!
