I stand back and look at the bigger picture and help them see things logically. They know that I’d tell them that feeling sorry for themselves won’t help them through their issues.
If anyone is feeling down and wants to make themselves laugh and feel good again, I’m the person to go to. I’m able to cheer my friends up in no time.
I am understanding and sympathetic to the situations and feelings of all my friends, and they of course, would know this.

Approach with caution, then take my stand and sternly order it to “get out!”
Grab a spare piece of meat from the fridge and take it out to entice the dog to calm down.
Grab the nearest object and chase the beast out – there’s no way you’d put up with some strange dog coming into your yard and snarling like you’re the one that’s trespassing!
Make sure everyone is safely inside and wait until the dog leaves before going out and closing the front gate so it can’t get back in.

I would correct them, and then state the reason for how I knew the right answer. They shouldn't be left to believe something that is incorrect.
I would think about correcting them, but decide not to embarrass them in front of the others. In the end, it’s no big deal.
I would tell them they’re wrong and say why, and then laugh and make a joke of it to keep it light-hearted so they wouldn’t feel bad.
I would politely question the accuracy of what they said, and then say what I believed to be the right answer.
