EXERCISE 1.1: Delegates to complete questions on slide (give 5 MIN.) and each delegate to share the information. Trainer to note their course objectives on FLIP.
EXERCISE 1.2: Discuss with delegates answers to ‘Favourite Speaker/ Dinner guest’. Ask delegates to discuss what makes a good presenter as opposed to a good speaker? Discuss the difference between giving a presentation and public speaking?
TIP: you can use examples for people’s lists.
One Minute Presentation
This module is intended as an early assessment of delegate’s presentation skills.
The one minute presentation is designed for the 2-day course but you may choose to amend the agenda and include it if you plan to run this course over 1-day (especially if your delegates are very new to presenting or you have less than delegates to train). If you do video the trainees keep the footage so that you can highlight improvements.
N.B. Always check your equipment prior to videoing the delegates; there’s nothing worse than to find the equipment is faulty or incompatible (this is especially pertinent if you playback using a digital projector or flat screen TV).
