Prerequisites: Successful completion of Health Care for ESL 1 or English language ability at IETLS 5+ and some health care or biology study.Overview: Health care concepts differ between languages and health traditions.  An important place to start is with the basic terms to understand how the concepts developed.  In Health Care for ESL 2, each of the standard body systems, complete with their organs and functions, are presented in a standard Western-English format.  The presentation is similar to that of western college courses but with the emphasis on terms and language.Coverage: The modules cover the "what is",  "what can go wrong" and "what to observe and report" topics.This course consists of the introductory module and Introduction to the:Cardiovascular system (heart, blood circulation)Digestive system (from mouth to anus plus pancreas and liver)Endocrine system (major hormone producing organs)Immune and Lymphatic systems (immunity, white cell and types, lymph transport system, nodes and spleen)Integumentary system (skin and mucous membranes)Muscular system (types and systems)Nervous system (brain, spinal cord, conscious and autonomic systems)Reproductive system (organs including secondary systems)Respiratory system (lungs, airways, gas exchange systems)Skeletal system (bones, tendons, ligaments)Urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureter and urethra)Each module has a short quiz.
